Aircraft painting process

The Process

Engineering, not just painting.

Professional aircraft refinishing is considerably more involved than simply painting an airplane. This is the FlexAero workflow — six stages, no shortcuts.

01

Incoming Inspection

We inspect the aircraft and document its current condition.

02

Protection & Masking

We mask every surface that should not be painted.

03

Stripping & Surface Prep

We strip the old finish and prepare the surface.

04

Primer & Bodywork

We prime and address any bodywork before color.

05

Paint, Stripes & Graphics

We apply color and lay stripes and graphics by hand with fine-line tape.

06

Detail, Protection & Final Inspection

We detail, protect, and inspect the finished aircraft before delivery.
